FASHION CITY: ATHENS (II)

2WO+1NE=2 is a clothing brand founded in 2017 by Stella Panagopoulou & Valisia Gotsi. They both have academic studies background (Geology and History and Philosophy of Sciences), but finally ended up in Fashion School where they became friends and decided to start a brand together.
The design project is based on nomadism. Each collection is inspired by a different city across the globe, drawing elements from its art scene, architecture, cinema, music, and people. The crystallization of the notions, essences / shapes of each given place are worked into the garments themselves. Their goal is to create clothes not as strictly functional everyday items but as multidimensional structures.

Alexia Raisi started her line in early 2015 in Athens. She turned to fashion design after completing her studies in architectural engineering applying knowledge of built form and functionality to the fabric, combining comfort and minimalism with lush materials to produce garments suited for all stages of life. Timelessness, comfort and versatility are her core values.
Slow fashion inspired, using high quality materials, cut with minimal waste and sewn by a single sewer from start to finish, the line aims to create luxe minimal garments that will be enjoyed and loved for years to come.
“Locality is an important aspect of my brand in the making process. I live in the city of Athens and here is where my materials are sourced and my products are made. The inspiration for creating can come from the world around us or from abstract thoughts and feelings. I am looking for things that move and intrigue me as ideas or graphics each time I begin a collection. Then my aesthetics for geometry, flow, volume and minimalism come in to give form to the designs.”

Aumorfia is a project of Theano Ravazoula-Potamianou, an interior and graphic designer with a deco-stylist background in interior design and lifestyle magazines and campaigns.
"Aumorfia" is not an actual word, it’s a notion invented to convey the “space” between the Greek words “ομορφιά” (beauty) and “αμορφία” (without shape). To enclose the beauty of an object that despite its strict geometrical character, keeps transforming, flows with the human motion and adopts a series of forms and shapes, acting as an intimate part of the body, an extension of garments.
The brand's main principal is to approach leather accessorizing in a minimal, architectural way. Clear lines, sharp cuts, smooth leather surfaces and geometrical synthesis. Theano wants the final result to reflect elegance and sophistication with an underlying occultism.
"I am designing leather accessories trying to give them a look that cannot necessarily be connected with the brutal s&m/goth character that fashion industry have given them, when all the customers and buyers are totally focused on this kind of leather accessorizing.
Sometimes I feel limited because of this attitude but I prefer to establish a brand with original and lasting values than to get a quick profit."
With consistency to ethical fashion, Theano works with vegetable tanned leathers from Greek tanneries, collaborates with Greek craftsmen, using local made materials and produce everything in Greece by hand in her two workshops in Athens and Ionian islands, always focused on offering original and qualitative design.

Eirini Sapoutzi started her own personal collection Eirene Athens in April 2015, after 25 years in the fashion industry. Until now she has viewed the world of fashion from a businesswoman’s perspective, since her mother, Nitsa Sapoutzi, introduced and established in Greece different styles from world famous fashion designers. Eirini was lucky as a child to learn about all the effort required behind flashy catwalks and the opportunity to work hard and effectively on the field. Now, she leaps forward, attempting what she always wanted: to convey her own ideas on fabric and leather for the woman who is active, dynamic yet feminine and elegant beyond fleeting trends.
It is no coincidence that she is using stretch-leather for the first time in Greece, a fabric that has undergone special treatment, which highlights the female figure in an ideal way.
She approaches the female form with respect to the individuality of each figure, without attempting to fit it into preconceived norms. A unique style for every woman.
"I design for strong, independent, working, contemporary, artistic and sophisticate woman, be it single or a mother, in the move all day, traveling, taking care of her family or /and her business, who needs to retain her elegance and sense of style along with comfort.
My inspirations are urban architecture, contemporary art, mostly dark coloring black white and grey, combination  from times to times, from world religions and cultures, nature I draw inspiration from the color palettes (sea, sand, stones, desert). And to mention, I love dirty colors."
